Day 1: I am thankful to have a God that loves me, just the way I am. Who knows my shortcomings (and there are a lot of them), and forgives them anyway. So thankful for His grace, and all the many blessings He has given me.
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever."-Psalm 107:1
Day 2: I am thankful to have been chosen to be the mommy to such an amazing, brilliant little man. His mind continues to astound me each and every day. Not only does he make my world a brighter place, but he also brings joy to so many others. I know he will continue to touch lives, as he has touched mine. God has an amazing plan for his life, I'm sure!
"As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him."- John 9:1-3
Day 3: I am thankful for my husband Matt, and our past six years together. Though many thought we were absolutely crazy and would not last, I still love him more and more each and every single day. Through deployments, moves and more, we have proven that we can survive anything! If ever there was proof that opposites attract, it's truly us! I'm not sure how I got so very lucky, but I thank God every day for him.
Day 4: I am thankful for my parents David and Teresa, they are the greatest parents a girl could ask for. My dad is the hardest worker I know, anyone who knows him knows he's almost always doing something-working on cars, building something new, etc! My mom is one of my best friends and always there with the best advice and knows just how to calm me down when I'm feeling overly anxious. She's also one of the strongest people I know, fighting breast cancer without ever losing her faith and positive attitude! I can only hope to be as amazing a woman as she is!
Day 5: I am thankful for my sisters, Hope & Heather. Even though we haven't always agreed on everything, I have always known that they have my back and will be there for me whenever I need them, and for that I love them dearly!! They're also the only ones who will ever fully understand me, and can make me laugh more than anyone in this world! I was truly blessed with some awe
some sisters!!
And for my brother, Jeff...while I never got the chance to meet him, he taught me to be accepting of differences and disabilities. I truly believe he prepared me to be the mother to Shaun that I am today. I hope he's looking down from Heaven today, and cheering on my little man as he faces some of the same challenges in his short life.
I'd also be very thankful to see my oldest sister for the first time in...10 years? But I'll keep this positive and say that I am still very thankful for her, for being a great big sister and babysitter when we were younger!

Day 6: I am thankful for the best friends a girl could ask for. Some people only have one best friend, but I was blessed with the two greatest: Erica & Brittany.
Erica understands me better than anyone in the world ever could, because we've faced many of the same challenges. I know God placed us in the same room at camp for a reason, and I could not imagine my life without h
er now. After all, who else would understand my love of Mary Kate and Ashley, Nicole Richie, pearls, Victoria's Secret, Starbucks...or make a list of all the reasons you're both awesome. (which I still have) It's a rare type of friend who will buy a ticket to California to walk in an Autism walk to support your son, and that's just the type of friend she is! I love her♥
Brittany made transitioning from homeschooling back to public school, something I didn't want to do in the first place, completely worth it! She has been there for me through everything, and even through distance has been there whenever I needed her. She truly is like a sister to me!! It is a sign of a true friend that she would explain to me what is going on during an HP movie in theater, even when she's completely obsessed and would much rather be watching herself (for the second time haha)...or putting together an impossible KNex toy for the little man with the hubby (fighting like brother and sister). Could not ask for a better friend. ♥

Day 7: I am thankful for the progress Shaun has made in the last 3 years in this Autism journey. I've said it before and I'll say again, it astounds me every day to see how far he has come from that initial diagnosis. More than anything I am thankful for the amazing teachers and therapists who not only helped him (and our family) tremendously, but also truly love my little man. We could not have asked for a better team: Allison, Jackie ,Connie, Emily, Samira, Kathy...and all those not on my Facebook as well. I am beyond thankful for each and every one of you!!
"Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God."- Philippians 1:3
It's just week one, and you can already see I have a LOT to be thankful for and many great people who God has given me in my life. I like this chance to tell them, and the world, just how much they mean to me, in case I don't say it enough throughout the year! What are you thankful for this year? Please feel free to share your status updates in the comments (or if you post about it on your blog as well, leave the link, I'd love to read it!)
Also, I just want to say a quick note...as you know by now, the Stella & Dot giveaway is still going on, and throughout the next several weeks, I will be posting several more reviews and giveaways- many more than I typically post in a short time frame! I am excited to bring all of you the chances to win some awesome prizes for the holidays, and I hope you enjoy them too. If you're one of those people who aren't a fan of frequent reviews and giveaway, I do apologize and I hope you will bare with me over the next few months...I promise they will not be as frequent after the holidays!!
