As a mom of two, there always seems to be somewhere to be. From fun stuff like trips to the zoo or the park...to not so fun things like running errands, school meetings and doctor appointments. During the summer that means doing it all with both kids in tow. Talk about an adventure! To make things easier, this mama likes to be prepared with a little bag of tricks. Fun activities, distractions and even snacks that will make mothering on the go a little bit easier! So I headed down to my local Walmart to buy supplies.

So, what's in my little bag of tricks?

Let's take a look:

-Coloring books/paper/crayons. Most kids LOVE coloring, right? My son isn't big on coloring books, but he LOVES drawing his own pictures, so rather than coloring books, we tend to stick with a notebook instead! They can create beautiful pieces of art while you are getting done what needs to be done!

-Books. My son has recently really started getting into reading more, and carries a book everywhere! (Just as I did as a child!) Pick a favorite book, or something new and interesting to keep them intrigued!

-Small Toys. Small action figures, kids meal toys, a toy car/train...even a little deck of cards. Anything small enough to fit into the bag that will keep kids happy is perfect!

-Electronics. When coloring, reading or toys fail to occupy...an electronic device will usually do the trick. My son loves his portable game systems, but a smartphone or tablet will work too! (An eReader is a GREAT addition for lots of reading choices!) Oh, and don't forget the headphones!!

-Something Sweet. Let's face it, when you've tried everything else in your bag and your child just cannot be entertained easily on that given day, a little bribery extra persuasion may just be in order!
