Let's talk movies! Do you ever find yourself wishing there were more movies that were truly suitable for the whole family to watch together? I don't mean just those movies created for children, but just good, wholesome grown up movie that you can feel comfortable watching around your children. Honestly, these movies seem to be few and far between...But The Identical certainly fits the bill! Let's take a look:
The Identical, starring Ray Liotta, Ashley Judd, Seth Green, and Blake Rayne is a redemptive movie about a young man, the son of a preacher, who rejects his father’s desire for him to join the ministry and instead embarks on a career as a rock singer. As he struggles to pursue his dream and rise to stardom, he finds love, pain, success, failure and ultimately uncovers a hidden family secret that reveals who he really us. The Identical is a captivating story about a family restored and a life discovered that lifts your soul and warms your heart.
With great actors such as these, the expectations were pretty high to start...still, I've found that with many movies of this inpirational nature, it's very easy to cross over into...well, a little bit cheesy...and unrealistic. But these actors kept The Identical from crossing that line. In fact this is a movie that even my husband- who tends to avoid inspirational type films for that very reason- could find himself enjoying. It's a great story, with great acting and truly a great watch for anyone!
Of course, what really makes this a fun movie to watch is the music! If I didn't know any better, I'd believe these songs were truly hits back in their respective times, and the movie would not have worked otherwise. Between the great music and the fashions, everything about the film screamed authentic and really helped to drive the story home. I was very impressed with the details that went into making the film more believable.
Overall, I really enjoyed this movie and will definitely find myself watching again and again. Good story, good music, good actors...what's not to enjoy? If you're looking for a family friendly movie for your family to watch together, this one is definitely worth a look.
