More Than Just Wet Bags: A Planet Wise Diaper Review & Giveaway

If you've been around the cloth diapering world for long, you've probably discovered that there are a few brands that will come up time and time again...the best of the best. Among those names is Planet Wise! Ask around for the best/favorite wet bag on the market, and you're likely to hear the name pop up! They are known for their amazing selection of wet bags in fun designs and prints.

But did you know that Planet Wise made diapers as well!? Well, guess what? They DO! And they are pretty awesome if you ask me! For this review, I received one of their diaper covers and prefolds. Were the diapers as good as their wet bags? Let's take a look:

Fit & Function.

Planet Wise diapers are covers or all-in-two diapers. These happen to be my favorite types of diapers. Rather than changing the full diaper at each change, you instead change just the prefold and continue using the cover. This means that during those summer months when you want to show off baby's fluffy bum, you can do so much easier! And they take up less room when storing! Their prefolds are very absorbent, and work well as they are for my daughter, but one of my other favorite features of all-in-twos is the ability to adjust the absorbency. For daytime, a prefold on its own is more than enough, but for nighttime I can easily fold in a hemp insert with added absorbency! To keep the prefold from sliding, they feature flaps that allow you to tuck it easily!

These are available in two different sizes- size 1 (6-18 pounds) and size 2 (15-35+ pounds). This allows for a better fit than many typical one size diaper would! The size 2 fit my daughter (around 26 pounds and wearing 2T clothing) perfectly. No gaps and no leaks! The double leg gussets help to provide a great fit and keep in any messes as well.

I actually found that this combined a few of my favorite features from our other favorite covers- the double gussets and the flaps- to create the ideal diaper for us! I am a fan!



The Cute Factor.

Planet Wise wet bags are known for their adorable patterns...and their diaper covers are no different! They offer a wide variety of fun styles for boys and girls alike. I have a slight obsession with birds so I instantly fell in love with this adorable bird design. I love how it is not the same print throughout, but rather features a fun coordinating pattern for contrast! So fun, and unique!! This design will be absolutely perfect for the springtime and Easter! I just love it. And this is only one of many great designs available.

Affordability:

Each cover costs $24.95 but my other favorite thing about covers and prefolds is that it is perhaps the most cost effective cloth diapering option available. Because you reuse the cover and simply change the insert, this means that generally speaking you will need less covers. Planet Wise prefolds typically come in packs of 6 and range in price of $16.95- $19.95. You can, however, also use any prefolds you may already have with the covers as well!

Perhaps the one downfall when it comes to affordability is that being sized diapers, you WILL eventually have to buy the larger size if you start as a newborn. Still, you can always sell your smaller diapers (if not keeping for another baby) to help fund the larger size, and the savings is still substantially lower than the cost of disposables! The size ranges also still cover a wide range, so you will only have to replace once!

Overall, I was really happy with our Planet Wise Cover and Prefold, and would love to add more to our stash!!
