If you had to choose just ONE baby shower gift to receive, what would it be? Clothes? A Carrier? Bottles? A stroller? For me (and many others, I believe), the answer would be easy- DIAPERS!! Honestly, is there anything babies go through more of? Perhaps that is why disposable diapers are among the top gifts given! But for is cloth diaperers, diapers are a great gift too...one that many seem to avoid! I get it, cloth diapers can be confusing to those that have never used them. There are so many types, so many brands and so many accessories. Where to begin!?

Whether you are looking for a great shower gift for the soon to be cloth diapering mom or for yourself, today I'm excited to share with you a fantastic cloth diaper company: The Little Bee Co! They offer several different options, but for this review I received the Bee Changed Ultra Cool Pocket OS.


Fit & Function

The Bee Changed Ultra Cool Pocket is a one size pocket diaper featuring an adjustable, clean snap front design allowing it to fit most babies 8-35 pounds. The feature a waterproof PUL layer, so no additional cover is necessary. They also feature a unique wrap and go feature that is great for two reasons. First of all, it helps to make this diaper adjustable for even the smallest of waist sizes as a crossover snap design. Secondly, you know how disposable diapers allow you to easily roll and close the soiled diapers for easy, mess free disposal? This feature allows these to do just the same, making soiled diaper storage much less messy...especially great for on the go!

Each diaper comes with 2 microfiber inserts- a full size adjustable insert and a contoured newborn insert. These can be used together or separately to make the perfect fit and absorbency for your baby. If you have a heavy wetter or otherwise prefer more natural fibers, they also offer additional Hemp/Cotton blend inserts as well. Like the microfiber, they are completely adjustable, so you truly can find the best fit to meet your needs!

Perhaps the coolest (pun-intended) feature of this particular diaper is the Coolplus lining! With summertime coming before we know it, many worry about cloth diapers being too warm in the heat. This feature eliminates that worry. But, what exactly IS Coolplus?

Coolplus is an incrediably “cool” fiber (poly/nylon blend} that provides the ultimate comfort for your baby! With it’s intense wicking properties, quick water diffision rate, speedy drying time and excellent air permeability your babies sweet  little cheeks will never want to be wrapped in anything else!

Overall, we were very happy with the fit of this diaper. It worked well for my 19 month old, with no leaks or gaps!

The Style

If you're going to go with cloth diapers, they may as well be cute, right? And The Little Bee Co. certainly has that covered. They offer a fun variety of vibrant solids, and the most fun prints too! From chevrons to florals, there is a little something for everyone. I could not help but fall in love with the print we received- Oui Oui in Paris! Absolute perfection. The design, the colors, the quality... absolutely perfect for my little miss.

The Mission

As much as we really loved the diaper itself, I think the mission may just be the best part of all. When you buy a diaper from The Little Bee Co, that same diaper is donated to an orphan in need. Let me repeat that, THE SAME DIAPER is donated. They don't have a lesser quality diaper donated in its place, they feel every baby deserves the same quality. That's pretty amazing, right?

WHY DIAPERS?
Orphans, especially those in 3rd world countries, do not have proper diapering available. A large number of orphanages use split pants, rags or often times no diaper at all. These precious babies find themselves in unhealthy and unsanitary conditions that cause an already bad situation to be far worse.
