Recently, I discussed how it can often be really difficult to be a Christian in today's society. It's not popular. Not only is there often a judgement that Christians are judgmental or stuck in the past, but people often want to challenge our Christian beliefs as well. We as Christians have to know how to respond to those questions and stand up for our faith. I think this is particularly true for teenagers. That's where the Apologetics Study Bible for Students comes in.But first, what on earth are apologetics!?
Simply put, apologetics is the defense of the Christian faith. It is the response that we give to critics who question our faith with questions like, "Why does God allow evil?". Apologetics gives us more to stand on than a simple, 'Because it's what I believe' or 'Because the Bible tells me so'. The latter is certainly a cute Sunday School song, but not a great way to share your faith with the cynical. This wonderful Bible has everything you need to truly stand firm and confident in your faith when the world challenges it:
The Apologetics Study Bible for Students anchors younger Christians in the truths of Scripture by equipping them with thoughtful and practical responses for whenever the core issues of their faith and life are challenged.
Multiple research studies have shown that spiritual focus often weakens among teenagers as they head into the attention-dividing realm of young adulthood. Up to 66 percent of them leave church altogether. The Apologetics Study Bible for Students works against that trend by helping this audience begin to better articulate its beliefs.
In addition to the complete HCSB text and dozens of articles collected from today's most popular youth leaders, including editor Sean McDowell, this new study Bible also includes:
- Two-color design-intensive layout on every page for the visual generation
- Sixty "Twisted Scriptures" explanations
- Fifty "Bones & Dirt" entries (archaeology meets apologetics)
- Fifty "Notable Quotes"
- Twenty-five "Tactics" against common anti-Christian arguments
- Twenty "Personal Stories" of how God has worked in real lives
- Twenty "Top Five" lists to help remember key apologetics topics
Now, obviously my student is a bit young for this Bible yet, but I have to say as an adult I found it very useful anyway! To me, there was nothing about this Bible that I found to be kids or teen Bible. Instead I found it to be a great study Bible for all. I love the footnotes on each and every page that truly help to get a better understanding of what I was reading. But mostly, I really love the articles within, the quotes within, the tactics included... basically all of those extras that truly help us as Christian form a solid ground for our defenses more than just an 'I believe it'. Christian today all too often are stereotyped as those who cannot form our own thoughts or back up our opinions, and the resources in this Bible can help us shatter those stereotypes.
The Apologetics Study Bible for Students is available to purchase now. This is truly a great way to give someone you love the gift of confident faith.

I think my dad may like this bible. He is good at asking tough questions and I'm sure he would like a bible that would help him work through those and be able to defend his faith more concretely.
