When it comes to holidays-any holidays- I love going all out and making it fun and exciting for my kids. But I have to admit, though my ideas may be grand- my actual skills do not match up. I would love to create elaborate festive treats for them, but they just would not be the fun Pinterest-worthy creations I so admire. Aside from that, many schools- my son's included- have a no homemade treats policy. That can certainly put a damper on things! But this year I came up with the perfect solution- a fun, festive treat that will make Halloween more exciting BUT is still store bought and easy enough for even the worst artists!
Jack O Lantern Jell-O Cups
- Orange Gelatin (I used Jell-O, but you can use whatever brand you prefer!)
- Sharpie
- Green Spoon
- Separate gel packs, if connected.
- Take the Sharpie and draw a Jack O Lantern face onto each cup.
- Serve with a green spoon as the stem.
That's it! This is so simple, but kids will have a blast with it! You can even make it an interactive activity by allowing them to decorate their own pumpkin- it's a safe (and yummy) alternative to carving!
What other easy Halloween snack ideas do you have? Any tips for those with no homemade policies in place? I want to hear all your thoughts in the comments below.
I love that these are totally easy and would be super fun for kiddos to help with!! Perks for being allergy friendly too :) Thanks for sharing!
