Recently, I've noticed a meme popping up on my news feed. I don't recall the exact wording of the post, but the idea behind it was that our little ones are watching us and learning from our example, and we need to make that example a good one. That's so true, isn't it? From the very beginning, our little ones are like little sponges- taking it all in. We may think that they are too young and don't really understand it all, and perhaps they don't just yet, but they're absorbing it all. The good and the bad.
At two years old, my daughter is certainly in that sponge-like stage. I am constantly amazed at the little things that she is picking up left and right. It's amazing to watch, but I do want to make sure she's picking up the right things. This is why these toddler years truly are the perfect time to start introducing Bible stories to our little ones!
But just how do we do that? Which Bible stories are the best? Which books are easiest for children to understand? (And sturdy enough for little readers?)
The Little Words Matter Bible Storybook is a great place to start!
Noah and the ark, David and Goliath, the birth of Jesus---the Bible has some big stories for little ones to hear and learn. The Little Words Matter Bible Storybook was crafted especially for toddlers, so they are sure to understand and enjoy each of the stories and request their favorites again and again.
The way I see it, when looking for books of any kind for toddlers they have to have three key features- they have to be engaging, they have to be understandable and they have to be durable! That's just we get with The Little Words Matters books!
- They're engaging. If you've read my reviews on their fun sound books, you know that those have been a hit in my house with all those fun buttons to push. But this storybook doesn't need that to keep kids interested. Instead it just has beautiful illustrations that are sure to catch your little ones attention. They are bright and beautiful, but simple enough that they don't detract from the story- just make it more appealing! Even without the words, my daughter and I love these pictures!
- They're understandable. There's really no point to reading your child Bible stories if they are too complex for them to understand. But the stories in this storybook were written with toddlers in mind. They are very simple and written in a way that children can understand...and they're super short too! Each story is just one page- making it a perfect choice for busy toddlers!
- They're durable. Though we have quite the collection of Bible stories in our home, I have found that most of ours personally are not actually board books. Many are simple enough for toddlers, but not able to withstand the inevitable ribbing of pages! I love that the Little Words Matter Storybook is perfectly fine to give to my two year old without worries of being torn up! We can not only read together, but she can flip through on her own too!
It's easy to see why we have quickly fallen in love with these fun books! They truly are a great way to start introducing your toddler to the Bible! We cannot wait to continue adding more to our collection! The Little Words Matter Bible Storybook (and more Little Words Matter books) are available now from Family Christian!
