Bible Journaling Through Psalms & Proverbs

Perhaps one of the most common questions I receive about Bible journaling (aside from what do I need, of course) is... where do I begin? In the past, I shared this list with some prompts to get you started, but today I wanted to share another great place in the Bible to start your journaling:

Psalms & Proverbs

I don't know about all of you, but I find myself constantly looking for topical verses. If I'm feeling anxious, I search for verses of comfort. If I'm feeling thankful, verses on giving thanks. Well, you get the idea. And most times when I'm in need of a little inspiration- there is some to be found in Proverbs or Psalms. These books are stuffed full of wisdom and memorable verses that truly are perfect for Bible journaling inspiration!  If ever I find myself in the mood to journal, but don't have any particular idea in mind- I head to these books to find something that speaks to me.

Here are just a few example of my own journaling through Proverbs & Psalms:

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. - Psalm 139:14

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!- Psalm 95:6

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. -Psalm 34:10

But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content. -Psalm 131:2

Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.- Proverbs 19:20

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever. - Psalm 136:1

Need a little journaling inspiration? Head to Psalms or Proverbs and you're sure to find a verse you will love!
