New year, new look!

When we think about giving ourselves an all new look for the new year, we often think weight loss, clothes or perhaps even makeup... but we all know that no makeover would be complete without a new hairdo too! So, today I'm excited to share with you one of my personal hair products: Lilla Rose!

What is Lilla Rose?

The Lilla Rose product line centers around unique, functional, and well made hair jewelry. From our flagship Flexi Hair Clip, we have expanded to Hair Sticks, the Flexi Oh!, Hairbands, and Bobby Pins. From there we rounded the line out with complimentarily designed You-Pins, and Badge Clips.

I was first introduced to Lilla Rose several years ago when my lovely sponsor Linda Menke approached me about reviewing these beautiful products on my blog. After a quick look around her website, I was intrigued. The products were absolutely stunning, but I was still skeptical. There was no way these little clips were going to hold up my stubborn, thick hair!

Boy, was I wrong! I quickly discovered that not only did they work for my hair, but they looked amazing too! Though Flexi Clips were by far my favorite, I also loved their other fun products like hairbands and bobby pins too. They all became a staple in my wardrobe and have remained so ever since- years later! Throughout the last few years, I've also had the chance to play around with my Lilla Rose products and come up with fun new ways to style my hair. I can do a simple ponytail, half up half down or a fun twist! But today, I wanted to share with you one of my current new favorites. This look is somewhat similar to a Hollywood roll, but no headband required:

What You Need:

Brush
Ponytail Holder
Lilla Rose Flexi Clip of Choice

What To Do

  1. First, put your hair into a low ponytail.

  2. Use your fingers to create a small pocket above the ponytail.
  3. Roll hair into the pocket. (This is similar to the beginning steps of a topsy tail, but the hair will stay IN the pocket, rather than being pulled all the way through.)
  4. Gather the sides at the top of your ponytail and pinch together. Use your Lilla Rose Flexi Clip to hold your hair in place!

That's it! This might take a little bit of practice to get it just right, but once you get the hang of it, it's very easy! It is the perfect hairstyle for both every day wear and even formal events too! You can add a fun Lilla Rose headband for a little extra sparkle!

Love the look of the headbands, but think they'd make better jewelry than hair accessories? With the changeable clasp, you can make it just that! Wear it in your hair, or around your neck! Being on a tight budget, I happen to love accessories that can pull double duty!!

  1. I am definitely going to have to try this! I was skeptical (that this would work for me) until you said your hair was pretty thick. I have so much hair that a lot of styles are hard to do with it and sometimes even if I have success in the beginning I can't always get them to stay for the day.

  6. I am in love with that barrette! It is gorgeous! I have really thick hair and it is hard to put up in barrettes. However, I bet if I put a tie in it first, it would work. Thanks for the idea.
