Whether I am driving in my car, working around the house or journaling in my Bible, I can so often be found listening to some type of Christian music!
Let's be honest...there are a lot of negative messages being tossed around in our world today. Everywhere we turn we are bombarded with more bad news, more insults being thrown at someone...just an all around negative attitude. And it can be pretty easy to get caught up in that!
But when I listen to Christian music, I'm surrounding myself in positive messages and those positive messages start to have an impact on every aspect of my life. It makes those mundane daily tasks a little brighter.
I'm always on the lookout for more great music to add to my collection, so when I was given the chance to review Phil Wickham's new album Children of God.
Standing on the musical foundation he has built through the years, Children of God is at once recognizable as another Phil Wickham masterpiece, but with a few musical twists and turns that make this record a sonic buffet. These songs were written as a response to this deep personal revelation and a call to others who have lost sight of knowing that we are His and that we have nothing to fear. For we are the Children Of God.

While you may not recognize the name, chances are if you listen to Christian radio, you'll recognize some of his music- namely the hit from his last album, 'This Is Amazing Grace"! This is actually one of those songs I cannot get enough of, but never knew who the artist was. From the Children of God album, you may also recognize 'Your Love Awakens Me'. This song is one I've heard played on Christian radio and the lyrics serve as the perfect example of the amazing messages you'll find on this album:

With such powerful lyrics, it's not hard to understand why I fell in love with this album. But while this may be my favorite track, it's certainly not the only great one on the album. Every song truly is every bit as wonderful, with heartfelt, powerful lyrics and the amazing voice behind them. I had to listen to each one over and over again.
