Through Christ.
When I hear these words I am instantly reminded of one of my favorite verses.
"I can do all things THROUGH CHRIST who gives me strength."
I find myself repeating this phrase often to myself when I am dealing with struggles in my life and feeling like I cannot make it through. I love this constant reminder that I am never on my own no matter what life sends my way.
On my own, I am weak. Through Christ, I have strength. I can handle whatever I am going through. When I feel as though I cannot move forward anymore, Christ is there beside me, lightening my load, taking it upon His shoulders.
On my own, I am overwhelmed and anxious, feeling as though I'm drowning in the stresses. Through Christ, I find joy! Even when things are not going according to plan, I know that Christ is with me along the way and that there is a purpose for the struggles. I can find joy in all circumstances when I remember His promises.
On my own, I am scared. Through Christ, I am protected. Though there are no promises that there will not be struggles and storms, I find peace in knowing that He is my refuge through it.
On my own, I am wandering uncertain of what I am supposed to be doing in my life. Through Christ, I have purpose. He has put me just where I need to be at this moment in time, and given me the gifts to give glory to Him.
On my own, I am insecure, always wondering if I am good enough. Through Christ I find confidence. I realize that while I may be imperfect, I was created just as God designed me to be, and that it is through my imperfections that His glory shines through. Through Christ, I am enough.
On my own, I am an imperfect sinner, try as I might, I am human and I make mistakes. Through Christ, I am redeemed. Through His sacrifice on the cross, I have grace. Not because of anything that I have done, but because of who He is.
Sometimes in life, I think we need these reminders. I know I certainly do, each and every day. Thankfully, throughout the Bible we find these promises that we are not on our own. And this month's Illustrated Faith monthly devotional kit- Through Christ- allows us to reflect on all of these things He provides for us. Take a look:
Through Christ we stand confident in who we are in Him, through Christ we have peace, grace, and joy, and through Christ we are made new. Join Meg Duerksen in this 14-day devotional and rejoice in the blessedness of knowing Christ as Lord and Savior. "I hope this devotional brings you joy as we reflect together on all we have in Christ. It is such a beautiful list of blessings that He gives to us when we ask Him into our lives as our Savior." —Meg Duerksen
