It is no secret by now that my son loves Bible stories. He has a collection of both story books and actual Bibles that he goes back to time and time again. But where did this love start? For him, it all started with The Beginner's Bible:

As you can see, this Bible has been around for a long time. My son is not the only child to first fall in love with these beautifully illustrated stories. Many of you probably have and had this in your home for your kids, perhaps you even read it yourself as a child. It is a classic!

But now that classic is even more fun, with its new stunning illustrations! When it first arrived, my son couldn't wait to check it out. Now, as I've said, throughout the years, his story Bible collection has grown and so he has quite the variety, but with every new one added, The Beginner's Bible remained a favorite. Even now at 9 years old and the ability to read his real Bible, he still enjoys going back to them. His reaction to the new look? He loved it! He was so excited to pass along his love of these stories to his three year old sister to enjoy in a fun new way. He of course noticed the new look, but while the styles are updated, it has those same familiar characters that little ones associate with The Beginner's Bible. This is simply an updated look, not a completely different one. My son is pretty particular about things like that, but he was a fan!



And my daughter was too! Now, she wasn't as familiar with The Beginner's Bible just yet, so it was all new to her, but she loved it. The pictures were beautifully illustrated and fun and the stories kept in line with the Bible, but in a shortened, easier to understand version. Already we have enjoyed reading about the birth of Christ, and we cannot wait to keep reading throughout the year. The stories are broken in to small sections, making them perfect for bedtimes and short attention spans both.
