Rain, rain go away...Come again another day!
It's rain season and that means we cannot spend all those warm days outside as much as we would like... so, what can we do on those rainy to keep the kids from going crazy? (And therefore saving our own sanity as well?) Here are a few easy ideas to get started:
- Make Forts. Bring the outdoors in with an indoor camping site. You can even make some s'mores to really make the experience real!
- Have a Game Day. Break out your favorite board games and make a day of it!
- Have a Movie Day. Keep popcorn and some theater candy on hand for these days!
- Indoor Scavenger Hunt. Give the kids a list of items to find--- it'll keep them occupied for awhile!
- Bake. My daughter loves to bake, so anytime we're stuck indoors its a great go to!
- Craft Time. Break out the paint and enjoy!
- Head to the Library. Not only does it get you out of the house, but when you return, they'll have books to keep them occupied.
- Take a Trip To a Local Museum. Children's museum, science center, even history or art museums... all more great ways to get out of the house and learn a little something too!
- Kitchen Science. There is a lot you can do with items already in your kitchen...what kid doesn't love science?
These are just a few ideas to get you started, but be creative and encourage kids to be creative and your kids might not dread those rainy days, but actually look forward to them!
