Now, as it says above this was truly designed for girls ages 8 and up. At that age they are likely to be reading the Bible on their own and can truly benefit from all of the great benefits that Bible journaling has to offer.
My daughter is just 5 year old. She cannot yet read simple books on her own, let alone the Bible. For many her age, the images to color would probably be a little difficult. She's pretty good at coloring inside the lines though, even with finer detail, so these pages worked great for her. I could hand her some fine tipped markers or colored pencils, read her the verses and chat about them for a bit...and then we could each journal in our own respective Bibles. It has been such a fun experience to share with her even at this young age...and I know that it will be even greater as she gets older.
But let's talk about the actual Bible itself. First and foremost, we loved the fun style on the cover. What girl doesn't love a little sparkle? This one has just the right amount... enough to make it girly and fun, but not so much to where it's over the top. The colors were my daughter's favorites, and perfect for every girl I think. Inside, the illustrations were adorable. They are very kid friendly in that while they may be a little more detailed than your typical coloring book, they are not so much that they are difficult for children. Again, my five year old was able to color them quite well. There are also plenty of spaces in the margins to create their own art. There are also journaling prompts, perfect for writing thoughts appropriate for kids and devotionals they can read through too.
We absolutely love this Bible, and know that it would be perfect for any girl who loves to color or whom has ever shown an interest in Bible journaling to find under the tree this year. It is available to purchase now at your favorite Bible retailers.
