By now, I would say that MOST, if not all, of us have heard about the 5 Love Languages. It has been around for many, many years and is often brought up in sermons, mainstream culture and yes, there are even memes out there too! Even if you've never read the book, you've probably heard the term used either seriously or in a joking manner (i.e. tacos are my love language, etc). So... why is this book so popular? Simply put, it just makes sense. We each communicate love in a different way and knowing the way that those around us give and receive love the most, can truly make the difference in the relationships in our lives.

We often think of marriages and other romantic relationships when we think of love languages, but this is an idea that we can apply to EVERY relationship in our lives--- including those with our children. This book takes a look at those 5 languages we already know- words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time and physical touch- and shows us how they can be applied to how we show our individual children love. It takes a deeper look at each individual love language separately, but also talks about other topics relevant to parents such as discipline, learning, etc. It gives us a better understanding on how we can reach our children, and how their love language might impact all these areas of their lives.

If you've already read any of the Love Language books, this will be a welcome addition to your collection. Haven't read any in the past? This is a great place to start! With over 1.5 million copies sold, there is a reason that so many parents continue to turn to it! I highly recommend it!
