Fall has arrived and with it the anticipation of holiday travels.

When it comes to traveling, the season between Thanksgiving and Christmas is one of the busiest. That is certainly true for my own family, as we travel to visit both my own and my husband's family during this time of year, as we have every year for the past thirteen. You might think that after so many years of doing this travel thing, packing would be a breeze. But if I were to be entirely honest, packing still drives me crazy. Especially for the holidays!

Here's the thing... I like to look nice for the holidays! Dressy shirts with a nice skirt or a festive dress are my go to choices. The problem? Once I've packed them into my suitcase they always tend to end up wrinkled. Oh sure, there are bag options that allow me to keep them hung up and avoid some of that... but we are already quite limited on our storage space so adding an extra bag? It's not really ideal. In the past, I've packed an iron or my handheld steamer... but again, these take up more room and just really aren't ideal options!

Needless to say, when I heard of InstaSteam for the first time, I couldn't help but think this was the perfect travel solution that I'd been looking for for all these years!

Sounds intriguing, right? I couldn't help but think this sounded like a MUCH better travel option than lugging around a steamer or iron (or hoping to have access to one once I got where I was going). Still, the question remained: did it really work? I was recently given the chance to try it out for myself.


The verdict?

I loved it! I tried it out on a lighter fabric that I'd not yet had a chance to steam otherwise after having being packed away for our move. It is recommended that this product be used with those lighter fabrics--- dress shirts and the like. (Or to use TWO pods for thicker fabrics.) In my experience, those tend to be the ones I have the most issues with wrinkling anyway! I just added the water, put the pod at the bottom, zipped it up and let the InstaSteam do the rest of the work. I found that not only did it work just as well as my traditional handheld steamer, it allowed me to continue doing other things at the same time-- saving me time and energy!
