Silent Shadows by Natalie Walters {A Book Review}

** I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley for consideration. All thoughts are 100% my own.

 Pecca Gallegos moved to the tiny town of Walton, Georgia, to protect her son and escape the dangerous lifestyle that once defined her. When a series of strange circumstances evolve into threats, Pecca finds herself confiding in an unlikely ally--her stubborn patient.

Army veteran Colton Crawford is desperate to recover from the undiagnosed disorder that is ruining his life, and his instincts are on high alert when threats against his nurse and her son force him to take action. But Colton's involvement only ramps up the danger when he uncovers a family secret revealing that whoever is after Pecca is closer--and more deadly--than they realized.

With this suspenseful new story, Natalie Walters welcomes you once more to Walton, Georgia, where everyone knows your name--but no one knows your secret.

Silent Shadows is the third and final book in Natalie Walters' Harbored Secrets series. This story can certainly be read on it's own, but it's a great series, so I would certainly recommend reading all in order. This is the second book in the series that I had personally read, and I absolutely loved it.

Christian romantic suspense is my absolute favorite genre and I must say that while this is only Natalie Walter's third book and first series, this book has certainly cemented her place in my must read list. She created a great mystery that had me engaged from the very start. There were many twists and turns that kept me guessing every step of the way. Now, I will say that I had figured out a few of the bigger, and what should have been more unexpected twists before they were ultimately revealed... but again I read a LOT of this genre and have learned to pick up some of those more subtle clues earlier on. Still, that didn't keep me from enjoying it any less.

The romance in the story was great too. I love a fantastic meet cute and this one certainly had a great one. The chemistry is hard to ignore from the initial meeting, and I truly couldn't help but fall in love with Pecca, Colton and Maceo and wanted them to end up together in the end. Being the end of the series, I must say it came to a rather satisfying conclusion as well.

While I wouldn't say the Christian content in this story was overwhelming, it was certainly an important part of the story. I enjoyed the message that regardless of how off course our own personal plans end up, God always brings us right where He intends us to be.

Overall, this was a fantastic read. I am sad to see this series end, but I look forward to seeing what will come next from Natalie Walters!
