Hi Mindy! Thank you for taking the time once again to answer my questions and giving my readers the chance to get to know you and your new book- A Father’s Promise- a little bit better!  Generally, I start these interviews with five random facts about YOU, but since this is your second time here let’s mix it up a bit! Can you tell us 5 random facts about your new book!

1.      Though the hero is wearing a cowboy hat on the cover, he’s not a cowboy, nor does he even wear one at any point in the book. 😉

2.      The toddler in the story is based on my youngest granddaughter.

3.      I “borrowed” the name Laurel from my good friend and fellow Love Inspired author, Laurel Blount.

4.      Little old ladies are great matchmakers.

5.      Each of Laurel’s friends—Christa, Paisley and Rae—will have their own their own story.

In our first interview, you shared how you came to discover your love and talent for writing. I loved reading about that… but what do you imagine you’d be doing if not writing?

Good question. I would love to open a dessert bar in our little town. We don’t have many restaurants and let’s just say that those we do have don’t offer any creative or special desserts. I’d love a place where people could come and an choose a slice of cake, a miniature tart or crème brulee to take home or enjoy there with friends.

A Father’s Promise is your 10th book with Love Inspired. Where do you continue to find the inspiration for all these great romances?

First of all, thank you for calling them great romances. I love you for that. 😊 As far as inspiration, it can come from anywhere. A twist on a movie, a news story… Just about anything can make me go, “What if…?”

What do you hope readers will take away from the book? 

That God is able to take even our biggest mistakes and turn them into our greatest blessings.

A Father’s Promise is the first book in the Bliss, Texas Series. Can you give us an idea on what we can look forward to next in the series?

Christa’s story is next and is scheduled to release in March 2021. Here’s a hint: What happens when a former-start-up-tech-exec-turned-hardware-store-owner offers to help her cattle rancher neighbor adjust to his new role as guardian for his five-year-old niece?

Any other projects you are currently working on that you can share?

I’m in the beginning stages of book three, Paisley’s story. And it just might involve a castle.
