Hi Darlene! Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions and giving my readers the chance to get to know you and your new book- Abducted in Alaska a little bit better! I usually like to start these interviews the same way with 5 random facts about yourself, but since this is your second time here, can you share 5 random facts about this book?
5 random facts about Abducted in Alaska:
- Includes lots plaid shirts
- Wrote my brother and his wife into it as they used to live in the Yukon
- I’ve visited Alaska!
- Includes Siberian Huskies
- You guessed it….LOTS of snow!
What drew you to the romantic suspense genre?
I’ve been a mystery fan ever since I picked up my first Nancy Drew book, so it was a natural decision for me to write romantic suspense.
What type of research went into creating this story?
Various survival items, child labor, Griffon helicopter, infertility, diamond mining, poisons, Yukon/Alaska. A wide assortment!
Abducted in Alaska is your second publication with Love Inspired Suspense. Was the excitement any different the second time around?
No! I still had to pinch myself to convince little ole me that this was really happening! J
Can you tell us a little bit about Abducted in Alaska?
Hannah Morgan and Layke (pronounced “lake”) Jackson have to join forces to solve a deadly child labor smuggling ring all while protecting Gabe, the boy who escaped. Their lives are in more danger the closer they get to solving the case. It’s a story about forgiveness and learning to trust in God’s sovereignty.
What do you hope readers will take away from the book?
I want readers to learn what I learned when I went through hard times. That’s there’s JOY in forgiveness. If we hold on to our anger and resentment, it will lead to bitterness. Forgiveness will unlock it and bring Joy. I’m living proof of that.
Thank you again for taking the time to answer these questions. Before you go, are there any other projects you are currently working on that you can share?
I’m currently working on Book 4 in the Border Patrol series – this one is about the Canadian witness protection program!
