Music is such a big part of life for so many of us. 

There is often something about music that express our thoughts and feelings in ways that we are unable to express ourselves. When you find those songs, they can impact us greatly. This is perhaps why I tend to love Christian music so much as well... there is something so powerful in these songs and they can truly be life changing. 

So, when I was given the chance to check out the debut album by Anne Wilson titled "My Jesus", I was excited to experience her music for myself. 



While this is her debut album, Anne Wilson is already making quite a splash in the music world. Her debut single and title track of this album was the longest #1 single on Billboard's Christian Airplay chart of 2021 at 7 weeks total. It was also nominated for a 2022 Billboard Music Award for “Top Christian Song” against Kayne West. (You can check out the awards yourself on May 15 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC. It will also stream live on Peacock.) The song hit #1 on Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 and #19 on the Rolling Stone Top 25 Trending charts. Anne Wilson was featured as Billboard’s October 2021 Chartbreaker Artist in their 21 Under 21 issue. She also is the first female solo artist debut single to reach #1 on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart. 

Wow! Talk about some impressive stats for a debut artist! 

While Anne Wilson may already be topping the charts, I must admit that before being asked to check out this album, I'd personally not yet heard of her. I think I might have heard "My Jesus" a time or two, but wasn't all that familiar with it at all. 

Let me tell you, two songs into watching her live album premier livestream and I knew I was a fan already! These songs are all absolutely fantastic, with words that will absolutely touch your heart... and her talent is absolutely astounding too. I personally am a country music fan, and you can definitely hear the country in this one, in all the best ways. "My Jesus" was of course absolutely fantastic... it's not on the charts for nothing after all, but it really is just one of MANY great songs on this 15 track album. One of my personal favorites was "Sunday Sermons", but I cannot say they were a bad song on the album. 

Another fantastic track was "Mamas", which featured Hillary Scott from Lady A. I am already a big fan of hers as well, so this was definitely a must listen to for me. I just adored it! This was such a sweet song, and one that I know so many are going to want to share with their very own mother too. The official music video will release 5/4 for Mother’s Day, and includes footage of Anne surprising her mother with the song, and Hillary Scott and her daughters.
