Welcome to the Blog + Review Tour for The Rancher's Want Ad Mix-Up by Megan Besing, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!
ABOUT THE BOOK
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Despite always adoring happily-ever-afters, Megan Besing didn't unlock a love for reading until her mid-twenties, which quickly expanded into writing. Her own stories have won many awards, including the Selah for her novella, Perfect for the Preacher, along with the Pre-published Maggie for The Rancher’s Want Ad Mix-up. And now she’s thrilled to be a Sunrise Publishing author. However, her most cherished achievements are being a wife and mother. She lives in a pocket-size Indiana town, centered around extended family, where she's always planning a road trip with a view. Yet, her favorite place may just be on her front porch drinking tea. “I think...” His
face planted in his palms, muffling his words. “I need you to marry me.”
Della’s hand shook
more than the pump when she shoved the handle down. The water ran over the rim
of the glass, dripping down her wrist in a cool, steady stream. He hadn’t said
what she thought she’d heard, had he?
She wiped up the
puddle on the floor and found herself drinking from the filled cup instead of
handing it over. No, Mr. Lamson wouldn’t have asked her to marry him. Despite
what his parents had originally planned, he was very clear about his stance on
the matter. Did he perhaps want her to carry him?
She peeked at him through
the half-empty glass as she continued to drink. The view distorted his profile.
Maybe he was truly ill. Or tired. Or both.
With the last of
the water drunk, she lifted the handle to refill it. “I’m sorry, what did you
say?” If he wished for her to carry him, she’d find Roy. She could shoulder
some of his weight if Mr. Lamson spread his arms on them both.
She set the full
glass in front of Mr. Lamson. The only noise in the room was the chatter
drifting from the porch. He stared at the table. His face was quite pale,
indeed. Even more so than when he had read the want ad his parents had placed.
Yes, she had to find Roy. After they got Mr. Lamson into bed, she’d fetch a rag
for his head, and then start on some broth. Make some tea, and maybe find some crackers.
“Della...” His
voice halted her in front of the back door. When she turned to face him, she
saw his eyes were packed with an emotion she couldn’t read.
