Many thanks to Pure Flix for providing a sample of the product for
this review. Opinions are 100% my own.
When you're looking for a new show to watch, what do you
look for?
I must admit, I can be a little picky when it comes
to TV and movies. I love a good story--- drama, emotions, family, romance---
but at the same time, I don't want content that I'll have to turn off should
my children walk into the room. Basically, I find I look for the same type of
things on the screen as I prefer to read in books too.
The
trouble is, it can be really difficult to find that kind of entertainment
these days. I can't tell you how many times I've found myself scrolling
through various streaming services and discovering a show or movie that
sounded like it would be good--- if not for the TV-MA rating. Why is this
so?
As such, I'm always excited to discover new shows on Pure
Flix where I know that I'm not going to get any of that content I try to avoid
as much as possible. The latest AFFIRM originals series “Karen
Kingsbury’s A Thousand Tomorrows” is a show about redemption, forgiveness,
devotion and transformation. Cody and Ali find a love so rare and so powerful
and they make the most of everyday they have with each other.
Check
it out:
From #1 New York Times best-selling author Karen Kingsbury, only God knows how many tomorrows we have left. In the dangerous and competitive rodeo world, how will Cody and Ali make the most of their time together?
If you enjoy reading Christian fiction, chances are you are pretty familiar with Karen Kingsbury. She's certainly one of the bigger, more known names in the genre. I have only personally read a handful of her novels, but I know when I pick one up that she does a great job of creating real characters with real issues and writing stories full of faith and heart... and yes, romance too. As such, I was definitely excited to watch it for myself.
I was specifically asked to watch and share my thoughts about the upcoming 4th episode of the season, coming up on March 10.
About the Episode: Cody and Ali grow closer and their feelings grow stronger, but will Ali’s secret and Cody’s inability to forgive end their relationship?
Now, there are some shows that don't really matter if you watch out of order, and some shows where the story builds with each episode. This one definitely falls into the latter category. With only six episodes in the show, at episode four, it's already pretty deep into the story. Having not watched any episodes yet, I had to go back to get caught up first. And let me say that this show is just wonderfully done. Knowing that the story is from Karen Kingsbury, I had high hopes for it and I'm happy to say that it did not disappoint. The rodeo setting drew me in and certainly made me want to watch it in the first place... but it was really these characters that kept me there. It was truly a love story for the ages and shows real
sacrifice and loyalty in the face of insurmountable odds. So full of love and a story that truly pulled at my heart as I watched. While it may not have been a story that appealed to my children, it was one that didn't have any content I didn't want them to see anyway.
If you're looking for a new show to watch, this one is wonderful! You can watch the first three episodes of A Thousand Tomorrows on Pure Flix now, with new episodes
releasing every Friday! Head on over to catch up on those episodes in anticipation of this one coming up March 10.
