I’m just one goat away from never getting married.
At least, that’s what all my friends say.
I shouldn’t let it bother me, except I’m a little worried they’re right. Most Friday nights I stay in and make goat soap like Little House on the Prairie.
I may not be the most eccentric person in my small town, but the few and far between single men under forty aren’t exactly beating down my door.
My mundane life of milking goats and teaching them yoga tricks gets shaken up when the county sheriff recommends a friend to my massage practice. I mistook the AC repair man for my client (big mistake!), only to discover the real client was Kyle Tolbert . . .
As in the handsome mechanic who’s made my heart swoon since middle school. The guy who was everything a girl could want—athletic and handsome, yet kind to everyone.
I’m not sure he knew I existed. Of course, I was a wallflower with bright pink hair.
But he’s suffering from an old football injury and claims I’m the only one who can help him heal.
Never in a million years did I expect Kyle Tolbert would ask me to put my hands all over his bare skin—then pay me for it!
Kaci Lane is an Alabama girl whose mission in life is to write stories that relate to real-life issues with a bit of comic relief. While unsuccessfully trying to learn Spanish for a decade, she has become fluent in Sarcasm, Southern Belle and movie quotes. She is married to a true Southern gentleman and has two young children, all of which help keep her humility in check.
With a background and degree in journalism, Kaci has written almost everything about anything. Well, except for topics that would make any good Southern Baptist’s face turn the color of a Crimson Tide football jersey.
This series has quickly become a favorite for me... and I think in large part that is because I feel like I really know these characters. I didn't just grow up in a small town, but out in the country... and yes, there is a difference. While I grew up in So. Indiana, not Alabama, there is just something about these characters that feels very familiar to me... in the best way possible. While the romances and primary stories are absolutely fantastic too, it's certainly all these quirky side characters that make this series stand out to me! As such, I was excited to head back to Apple Cart for another story. And it did not disappoint.
Every book in this series has had its share of laugh out loud moments, but I think this one had me laughing more than any other! There was so much goat mayhem... and I really couldn't get enough of it! Aside from that though, Daisy and Kyle were such sweet characters with wonderful chemistry that I couldn't help but enjoy.
This is a closed-door romance with great chemistry, but no spice or language.
If you're looking for a RomCom with small-town, country vibes, this is definitely one to check out.
