Deep Haven Welcomes Pastry Chef Home

Deep Haven’s own, Robin Fox, is leaving the glamor of her life in Paris to work at Fox bakery here on Lake Superior’s North Shore. After a health scare, the owners of Fox Bakery, Jim and Elaine Fox, are taking a well deserved sabbatical on the sands of a Florida beach. Granddaughter and famed pastry chef, Robin, will be reining over their kitchen in their absence. Jim and Elaine expect to be gone for six weeks.
“We trust Robin will continue to uphold the quality Fox Bakery is known for,” Elaine Fox said. “Locals can expect the same breads on the same schedule as always.”
When asked if Fox Bakery would consider adding cakes to their menu Fox said, “Robin has a flair for the dramatic, but I don’t think she will change the menu much. We’ve asked her just to maintain status quo while we are away.”
Jim Fox added “I’m sure Robin’s time at home will be quiet compared to her life in Paris. She will have plenty of time to reignite old friendships.”
As Deep Haven’s only bread bakery, Fox Bakery supplies many of our citizens with their favorites each week. Mid-morning coffee breaks would not be the same without their famous walnut raisin loaf, and many children beg for their cinnamon rolls every Saturday morning.
“Robin Fox is coming home?” Hometown hero and handyman, Sammy Johnson said. “Interesting. She was my lab partner in high school. I’ll have to stop by and tell her hello.”
“I will enjoy my time here and seeing old friends again, but I don’t think I’ll be home long,” Robin Fox told this reporter. “I’m hoping to get back to Paris shortly after Grandpa and Grandma come home from Florida.”
Fox’s brothers, Grayson and Oliver, were unavailable for comment.
