Are you a Duck Dynasty fan? 

I must admit that I'm not a big reality TV fan, and have only caught an episode here and there. Still, I'd heard bits and pieces of their story and so when I had the opportunity to check out the new film that tells the incredible true story of Phil & Kay Robertson, I was intrigued.

Synopsis: Long before Phil Robertson was a reality TV star, he fell in love, started a family, and began to spiral out of control. THE BLIND shares never-before-revealed moments in Phil’s life as he seeks to conquer the shame of his past, ultimately finding redemption in an unlikely place.




Oh, what a powerful movie this is! As Christians, we all know that God is powerful and has the ability to change anyone's heart. We've read our Bibles and have seen the incredible transformation of Paul. And yet, so often, while we know this in our heads, it can be really hard to believe that with all of our hearts. Paul is just so far removed in history, that it's hard to really grasp that.

The Blind is a powerful true story that showcases God’s redemptive power to change our lives when we surrender to Him!

This story would have been a beautiful story were it a work of fiction, sure... but knowing that it actually happened? Yes, that makes that message all that more powerful. For those who have never heard anything about their story--- know that it is not an easy one and could potentially be triggering for some viewers. The movie deals with alcohol, abuse, mental health, etc... it's messy and complicated... but it's real and doesn't shy away from the truth of that mess. 

We're all a little bit messy too, aren't we? If you've ever felt like our messes are too much for God, this movie offers us a beautiful reminder that God will always be bigger. If you're a Duck Dynasty fan who has seen every episode and adores this family, you'll absolutely love this movie, of course. But even if you've never seen an episode or heard of the family at all, this is still a movie that you can enjoy and be inspired by.
