A Royal Arrangement by Amanda Schimmoeller: Book Review

*Book received for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

A king forced to take a new bride.
A princess determined to win him over.

Princess Rosalie is a hopeless romantic who believes in happily-ever-afters. When she discovers her country is nearing financial devastation, her parents deliver news that will change her life forever—they have secured an arranged marriage for her to King Colin of Edgemont.

It’s not the love match she hoped for, but Rosalie attempts to make the best of the situation and find her place in Colin and his daughter’s lives. When Colin remains grumpy and distant, she takes it as a challenge—she will do whatever it takes to make her husband fall in love with her.

King Colin never planned on remarrying after unexpectedly losing his first wife, but when he’s presented with an offer he can’t refuse, he finds himself with a new bride. Colin plans on living their lives separately and staying focused on raising his daughter… but Rosalie keeps inserting herself into their lives.

Not falling in love with his wife was going to be more difficult than he ever expected.

A Royal Arrangement is Book 3 in the Royal Hearts series. This is a sweet, closed-door romance and can be read as a standalone.

As a child, Amanda Schimmoeller had two loves: writing and Disney. She now combines the two by writing stories of true love, broken hearts, and happily ever afters while surviving on copious amounts of iced chais and binge-worthy tv. You’ll find her plotting her next great love story and living out her own fairytale in Knoxville, TN with her husband and their dog.

A Royal Arrangement is the third book in the Royal Hearts series. While familiar characters make appearances, I do believe this could be enjoyed just fine as a standalone as well.

This was such a wonderful book! First of all, Rosalie's character was just the absolute best! She's had some hard moments in her past and she's finding herself thrown into this arranged marriage that she did not want... and yet, she goes into it with a great attitude and so much hope. In many ways, she felt just like you'd expect a Disney princess to be--- positive and sweet and so very likable. I'm not sure I've ever read a more sunshine-y 'Sunshine' and I absolutely adored her.

And then we have Colin who is an absolute grump... but when you consider that he has lost both parents and his first wife... well, can you really blame him for being closed off from the idea of letting someone else into his heart? I loved how she helped to brighten his life a little more. And the relationship he had with his daughter was the absolute sweetest too!

Admittedly, I don't always love romances involving a widower. I love seeing a couple fall madly in love and being with the love of their life... and that can be really hard to pull off well without taking away from that first love. This one did it beautifully and I absolutely loved how it was all handled.

A Royal Arrangement is a closed-door romance, with nothing beyond kisses and no language.
