It’s time for this rock star to settle down …
Fame, fortune, and fans—Jace Kendall has it all. Yet, he still feels like something is missing from his life. After the thrill of success starts to wane, he runs into his first love who left him without a word a decade ago. To his surprise, she mistakes him for his twin brother, an assumption he doesn’t correct for fear that she might disappear again.
If Leah Parker wasn’t so desperate, she wouldn’t have befriended the brother of the man she once had a summer fling with. She’d never wanted to hinder Jace’s future, which is why she stopped contacting him when his career took off. But her daughter’s life-threatening illness forces her to ask the Kendall family for help and reveals the secret she’s been keeping for years.
When the media catches wind of their past, Jace and Leah not only have to deal with the fallout but also with their undeniable chemistry. Can they learn to trust each other enough to plan a future together?
Rescuing the Rock Star is a mistaken identity, second chance romance full of sweet conversations, swoon-worthy kisses, and a satisfying ending that will leave you with a smile on your face.
USA Today bestselling author Liwen Y. Ho works as a chauffeur and chef by day (AKA a stay at home mom) and a writer by night. Her strength is in creating character-driven, deep POV romance infused with faith, humor, and happy ever afters.
In her pre-author life, she received a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Western Seminary, and she loves makeovers of all kinds, especially those of the heart and mind. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her techie husband and their two children (AKA munchkins).
Rescuing the Rock Star is the second book in the Kendall Family series. While the couple from book one do make appearances throughout this one, it can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
I've got to admit, I'm not usually one for stories with a secret baby... they're just not my usual cup of tea. That said, I do enjoy second chances and I'd read and enjoyed the previous book in this series, so I decided to give this one a shot... and I'm glad I did! This was such a sweet story! Like I said, I love a second chance romance and this story is a good example as to why... sometimes it's the right person, but not the right time. This was certainly the case with Jase and Leah. Despite their history, they never stopped loving each other... and when God brings them back together unexpectedly, they had both grown up enough for the time to be right. It was a joy to see them get their happily ever after.
This is definitely a romance where the faith content is a huge part of the story, and I absolutely adored that. I loved seeing these characters live out their faith and trust God with their lives. It definitely added a lot to their story. If you're looking for a sweet Christian romance with imperfect characters, this is certainly one to check out.
