A CEO and her bodyguard take on a dangerous mission while navigating their surfacing feelings for one another.
Laina Milenna is one of New York’s most powerful CEOs, helming the global company her family built over generations. Showing up prepared and professional everyday comes with a price and after a case of exhaustion lands her in the hospital, she is forced to accept that the break she’s needed since her parents passed away is overdue. Off to the Maldives it is.
As her long-serving executive protection officer, Everett Park, is about to say goodbye to her, Laina’s foundations are rocked. Everett has requested a change of assignment. Does she secretly have a crush on him? Yes. Is he entirely off-limits? Also, yes.
When her past turns up to haunt her, ripping away cherished beliefs about the world she knows and catapulting her down a treacherous path, Everett is the only one she can turn to. What he proposes next sends them on a daring mission fraught with danger and desire, testing the limits of trust.
This closed-door novella is one of four standalone novellas in the "Black Swan Protection Novella" series.
I love a protective MMC, so of course a bodyguard romance is going to be a perfect fit, right? But I honestly hadn't read a whole lot of them up until now... this one certainly has me wanting to change that! Right from the start, this one drew me in... and it had so many surprises throughout that I found myself not wanting to put it down. It had just the right blend of action and romance and I found myself really enjoying everything about these characters. Despite its shorter length, it was not short on story! There was so much going on in this book--- so much drama, so much action, so many secrets! It really did not feel like a shorter read at all. I enjoyed every minute of it! With a wonderful debut like this, I absolutely cannot wait to see more from Hope Snyder in the future!
Trust Me is a closed-door romance with kisses only. It does have a handful of very minor language.
