The Party Planner's Problem by Jaycee Howard: Book Review

*Book received for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

“I let you go once Paige, I’m not going to let that happen again.”

All my life people assumed I was secretly in love with one of the Bennett boys… but they were always more like my own set of annoying brothers.

And what girl doesn’t fall for her brother’s best friend?

That was a long time ago though. As far as I’m concerned, that ship has sailed, sunk, and is at the bottom of the ocean, now home to a plethora of marine life. But… just like any good ‘ole ghost story, Maxon Grant is determined to haunt me.

When I’m suddenly kicked out of my apartment, the only hope I have of getting my deposit back is with the help of the man I’ve been trying to avoid for the last eight years. Now, I’m not only living with Maxon while we get this whole mess figured out, but the man doesn’t seem to want to leave the past in the past.

Where it belongs.

And when it’s just me and him, his bad boy, playboy persona starts to fade and I’m left instead with the guy that I fell in love with all those years ago…

Now I just have to make sure I don’t fall in love with him again.

The Party Planner's Problem is a closed-door, forced proximity, found family, dual POV, second chance romance with swoon worthy moments and sizzling kisses. It is a stand alone novel with references to the previous two books in the Bennett Family series, with a guaranteed HEA.

Jaycee Howard is living her very own love story after marrying her childhood best friend and is now a full time mom to their 3 kids and giant breed dog, Odin. She absolutely loves to travel with her family and explore both local and far off places whether it be hiking, shopping, camping, or just passing through a cute small town. When she’s not writing, she’s either reading a good book she’ll probably end up telling you about or obsessing over her newest hobby (she knits, crochets, tats lace, bobbin laces, bakes, wood burns, leather works, as well as many others… along with trying and failing to garden).

The Party Planner's Problem is the third book The Bennett Family series. While you might have a bit of a better understanding of family dynamics if you've read the previous books, this could be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

I absolutely adore this series and I was very excited to get the honorary third Bennett child- Paige's- story. It absolutely did not disappoint. Paige and Maxon had quite a long and complicated history, which we are given in bits and pieces as the story goes on. I loved all of these little glimpses into their past--- it had me wanting now only to see them get their happily ever after... but also to know where it all went wrong. I just adored both of these characters so much. She is stubborn and independent...sometimes to a fault. His want to take care of her, even when she fights it is just the best... if you love a story where he falls first and hard, this is definitely that! Their meet cute at just 10-years-old was the absolute sweetest and I just adored their chemistry. I've loved the rest of this series so far, so I loved getting to see more of the Bennett family, and we get a bit of an intro to the next book... and I absolutely cannot wait!

The Party Planner's Problem is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
