Marrying the Billionaire by Marion De Ré: Book Review
*Book received for consideration. All thoughts are my own.
LA is a dream graveyard.
At least that’s what I thought. Turns out I just landed a big paying part after all.
Well, acting as a Billionaire wife isn’t exactly what I was thinking when I dreamed about my career, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Besides, pretending is my thing. I've been doing it for so long it's hard to tell what's real and what's not.
So, in the span of a few days, my cat and I moved from a studio apartment to a mega mansion.
Too bad it comes with a grumpy British man who’s allergic to cats, annoyingly handsome, and hates anything but his job.
But there might be more to Colton's cold facade, and as it crackles, I discover a protective and caring man with a past almost as complicated as the one I'm running from.
As we get more comfortable in this fake relationship, I get a sense of safety I've never experienced in my life and the line between truth and lie starts to blur.
Or is it?
If it were all fake, I'm pretty sure my heart wouldn't rattle in my chest every time Colton smiles at me. Or talks to me. Or looks at me.
I know this marriage isn’t real, but what if my feelings are?
Marrying the Billionaire is the last book in the For The Love of Rom-coms series. All books are standalones and can be read in any order.
Perfect for fans of:
✔️marriage of convenience
✔️grumpy/sunshine
✔️billionaire heroes
✔️forced proximity
✔️complicated pasts
✔️funny banter
✔️closed door/fade to black
Marion De Ré is an author of swoony closed-door romantic comedies. She lives in the French countryside with her husband and adorable cat. You can expect all your beloved tropes in her writing as well as a good dose of humor and all the feels. When she's not reading or writing, you can find her on a plane to a far-away destination or in a Champagne cellar, indulging in a tasting of her favorite drink.

Marrying the Billionaire is the fourth book in the For the Love of Rom-Coms series. While you might see some familiar characters, I do think this could be enjoyed just fine as a standalone as well.
I have absolutely adored every single book in this series... every time I think it cannot possibly get any better, I find myself proven wrong. This was no exception. Marriage of convenience and fake relationships are two of my favorite tropes and this one does both perfectly. Both characters had difficult pasts that kept them from wanting to marry for real and enter an agreement that is supposed to be strictly business. Their chemistry is undeniable right from the start, and it doesn't take long for very real feelings to develop. The more we got to know them and their histories, the more I found myself invested and wanting them to get it all worked out. It was a rough road to get their happily ever after and mistakes are made along the way, but I loved seeing them work through it. Seeing Colton want to take care of her (and her cat) beyond the scope of their agreement? Yes, please. Marion De Re has such an effortless writing style that always brings me such joy to read--- her books are the perfect blend of swoon, humor and heart... and this one was the perfect example of that. I loved it.
Marrying the Billionaire is a closed-door romance. It does have a fade-to-black moment (non-married couple) but doesn't go into too much detail. There is some minor language throughout the story as well. There are mentions of previous abuse, which could be triggering for some readers. The author always does a great job of laying out what to expect, so be sure to check that out to decide if it's for you.
