Summer Ever After by Kortney Keisel: Book Review

*Book received for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

Falling in love is easy. Finding the right guy to spend happily ever after with... that's the hard part.

But I have a foolproof plan. I'm taking the tropes that work in romance books and applying them to my love life.

Only one bed? Never fails.

Caring for someone when they're sick? A classic.

"Who did this to you?" Seals the deal every single time.

So long, loneliness. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

But the more I try to force romance, the more feelings naturally progress with the one man who's off limits: Walker Collins, the guy I've had a secret crush on since 7th grade, not to mention my best friend's older brother.

Dating Walker crosses BFF lines I swore I'd never cross. Plus, he hates Sunset Harbor, and his pro golf career will take him off the island as fast as he came, sending me back to the land of singlehood, loneliness, and broken hearts.

At the end of the day, I don't want to be the fool in my foolproof plan.

◆ Summer Ever After brings all the sizzle and chemistry without the explicit scenes and language. It’s the perfect romcom to make you laugh and fall in love.

◆ Check out the rest of the books in the Falling for Summer Series. Seven interconnected books from seven different romcom authors. One small island. Lots of romance.

Books can be read in any order:

Summer Ever After by Kortney Keisel

Beachy Keen by Kasey Stockton

Plotting Summer by Jess Heileman

Summer Tease by Martha Keyes

Beauty and the Beach by Gracie Ruth Mitchell

One Happy Summer by Becky Monson

Rebel Summer by Cindy Steel

Kortney graduated from the University of Utah with an English degree and spent a few years before motherhood teaching 7th and 8th graders how to write a book report, among other things. But after a reading slump, where no plots seemed to satisfy, Kortney pulled out her laptop and started writing the "perfect" love story...or at least she tried. Writing love stories is her job...just kidding. Her real job is taking care of her five awesome kids and spending time with her husband.

Kortney loves a good romance movie or book, warm chocolate chip cookies, and traveling the world.

Oh my goodness, I am absolutely obsessed with this book.

First of all, that chemistry between Walker and Jane was flying off the pages. One thing that I know when I pick up a Kortney Keisel book is that is going to bring all the chemistry and amazing kisses... and this was certainly no exception. She truly is an absolute master of bringing in all that sizzle, but no-spice... and I absolutely love it! Despite their obvious chemistry, I loved that Jane was such a loyal friend who wanted to respect her best friend's wishes... it made her all that more likeable. Walker was such a fun character. His constant flirting made me smile throughout.

The premise behind this story is so fun too. Jane wants to fall in love and makes a plan to use romance tropes to make it happen. While she tries to force the tropes in hilarious ways with guys on her approved dating list and fails miserably... she seems to keep falling into them naturally with Walker. If you're a romance reader like me who LOVES all the tropes, this one will definitely make you smile! So. Many. Tropes. And I couldn't get enough. There is so much to love in this book--- a definite summer must read! I absolutely cannot wait for the rest of this series.

Summer Ever After is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. Some of the kisses are a bit more descriptive and there are a few innuendos as well. This is the first book in the Falling for Summer series- a multi-author series taking place on Sunset Harbor with interconnected characters, many of whom we meet in this book.
