Book Review
Game Seven is the second book in The Unwritten Rules series. While characters from the previous book (as well as previous series) make appearances in this one, it can absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone as well. This was such a fantastic baseball romance. There are many sports romance books where one of the characters is an athlete, but the actual sport they play has little to do with the story... this is not one of those books. It takes the reader right into the world of baseball with the MMC being a former baseball player/current manager and the FMC being a baseball writer. The author's love of the game is apparent, and that just made me enjoy the story all that much more even if I personally know little about the sport. Molly and Adam are so wonderful together... there is a natural chemistry between them that drew me in, and I just couldn't get enough of their moments together. The way they care for each other... so good! There was so much depth to their story and I couldn't help but adore them.
One of the things that I always appreciate about Megan Cousin's books is that she features characters with various physical or mental health differences. As someone who struggles with anxiety and chronic pain (among others), I think this is so important to see in fiction and she does it well. This book was no exception as we see Adam's struggle with chronic pain and use of mobility aids.
Game Seven is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
