Her Maine Enemy by Sophie-Leigh Robbins: Book Review

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Book

A fake engagement to my enemy sounds like the worst idea ever, but falling for him? Now that would be a real crime.

Benson Donovan has been my nemesis ever since I opened a glamping resort next to his back-to-basics campground. According to him, glamping has nothing to do with ‘real camping’ and he never passes up an opportunity to tell me.

When a coveted plot of land next to our campgrounds goes up for sale, we both want it—but neither of us can afford it. My mother offers to help, on one condition: if I marry Benson, she’ll buy the land as our wedding gift.

Yeah, small detail: I told her we were dating to dodge her relentless matchmaking.

Now I have to convince Benson we need a fake relationship, no matter how much I hate him. But the more time we spend together, the more I have to convince myself that I’m absolutely not in love with Benson Donovan. We’re only pretending after all…

Her Maine Enemy is a short and sweet romcom full of humor and heart that is meant to be read in two hours or less. It has no cliffhangers, a guaranteed HEA, and all the sizzle without the explicit content. This book is part of When in Maine, a feel-good romcom series set in a small coastal town in Maine. If you love short and sweet beach reads, then this series is perfect for you!

Book Review

Her Maine Enemy is the third book in the When in Maine series but can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

I've enjoyed the previous two books in this series very much, but this one might be my new favorite (so far at least!). Benson and Piper did not get off on the right foot and the banter back and forth between then two of them was absolute perfection... almost as great as the chemistry. I loved how- despite not getting along- he doesn't hesitate to fake a relationship to help her out with her mom...which pretty quickly spirals out of control a bit! They were truly the sweetest together--- the perfect blend of banter and swoon--- with a wonderful slow burn. This was a super quick read--- easily read in just a sitting or two--- but didn't feel rushed or incomplete in anyway... just the perfect bite-size enemies to love romance!

Her Maine Enemy is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
