When Hairy Met Stella Lindsey Jesionowski: Book Review

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Book

When fake dating a werewolf starts to feel real, will it be a trick or a treat?

Nate has one job: to protect the people he loves.
But he’s vowed to never love again, so his job should be easy, right?
Not with Stella in the picture.

Halloween is a great time to pretend. But Nate pretending he isn’t falling head over paws with his boss isn’t the kind of seasonal disguise he wants to wear.

All he needs to do is keep his distance from Stella. Besides, they’re no good for each other. They’re like fire and ice, sunshine and a grump.

A human and a werewolf.

But when they’re forced to spend time together at a scenic resort the week before his brother’s wedding, their friends won’t stop playing matchmaker. Seems they’re oblivious to the one thing Nate knows for sure–that he and Stella will never work.

So, he agrees to fake date Stella to get their friends off their backs, which seems like a solid plan. At least until things get stickier than a caramel-coated apple.

Because over outdoor adventures and moonlit nights Nate finds himself in danger of breaking his only rule–don’t fall for Stella.

But it’s too late. With Halloween around the corner and these romantic sparks flying, someone is going to get hurt. The last time, it was him. What if this time, the person he loves the most is the one person he can’t protect?

When Hairy Met Stella is a paranormal romcom as sweet as your favorite autumnal beverage. It has slow-burn chemistry and plenty of sizzle without on-page explicit content.

Book Review

When Hairy Met Stella is the second book in the Werewolves of Wheeling series. While you'll see some familiar characters (and there may be some slight spoilers to the first book as well), I do think this could be enjoyed just fine as a standalone as well.

The Way We (Were)wolf (book one in this series) was one of my favorite Halloween reads last year, so I was absolutely THRILLED when I learned that Lindsey Jesionowski was writing a second werewolf novel. (I may have squealed at the news!) And let me just say, this one absolutely did not disappoint! It had everything that I loved about the first book--- all cute and cozy Halloween vibes, laugh out loud humor, a sweet and swoon worthy romance and a super handsome and protective MMC... who just so happens to be a werewolf! I loved getting to know Nate and Stella and seeing all the ways that they cared for each other--- even before they started with the fake dating. They had a really sweet chemistry between them that I couldn't help but adore. Of course, I always love some meddling family members... and this one delivered on that front too. Truly, there was so much to love about this book. If you're looking for a wonderful Halloween read that is more Halloweentown than Scream, this is an absolute must read! I loved it!

When Hairy Met Stella is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
