While You Were Campaigning by Jes Drew: Book Review

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Book

She'll do whatever it takes to win the election— even date the enemy.

Abigail has big dreams, starting with winning her town's local school board. Unfortunately, her rival is her former college crush, who has always been more popular than her. Even worse, after a really bad morning, both their reputations are ruined.

There's just one way to salvage them, though, and that is to become a couple. A fake couple. A fake couple who definitely cannot stand each other and certainly won't fall in love for real. After all, that kind of stuff only happens in the books Abigail writes about, not real life . . .

Love on the Ballot is a series of standalones spotlighting positive closed-door romance in chaotic times.

The Author

Jes Drew is the author of the Cursed Fae of Orphydice Manor Series, the Sunset at Dawn trilogy, The Samurai's Student saga, the Ninja and Hunter trilogy, the Howling Twenty trilogy, the Kristian Clark saga/The Man on the Run series, the Castaways trilogy, The Dystopian Takeover trilogy, Summers of Yesteryear series, The Clockwork Faerie Tale Novellas, the Legends of the Master Spy series, The New ESE Files series, Tales from Parallel Worlds, Genie and Serena, Accidentally on the Run, This Side of Heaven, and The Death of a Hero.

She has three degrees, including a Master of Arts in Behavioral Counseling. Also, she has about five million houseplants (and counting— the plants and not the degrees . . . unless she relapses). She is still debating if having a fae husband is worth the hassle.

Book Review

I may not find real life politics all that enjoyable... but this fictional version in While You Were Campaigning!? Yes, please! This was such a fun read! While Abigail and Logan knew each other in college, they hadn't had any interaction in the present--- until she quite literally crashes back into his life only to discover that they are now political rivals after the same seat on the local school board--- and already in the midst of a small-town political scandal. The solution? Fake dating, of course! These two were so fun together... as rivals they had great banter between them... and the chemistry was even better! I loved the flirtiness between the two of them and found myself smiling throughout reading their story. I truly just couldn't get enough of these two! This is the first book that I've read from Jes Drew, but this one (particularly the epilogue, oh my goodness!) has me absolutely looking forward to reading many more from her in the future!

While You Were Campaigning is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
