Have you ever felt lonely?
I think, for most of us, the answer to that question is a resounding yes. As a military wife with social anxiety, living far from family and friends, this is certainly an experience I know all too well myself. And I know I'm not alone in that. Each and every one of us has likely gone through a season or two of loneliness in our lives, right? As a matter of fact. according to the surgeon general of the US, we are currently in the middle of a loneliness epidemic... which can be detrimental to health.
What then could be timelier than a devotional all about the topic: Praying Through Loneliness. Take a look:
With the current crisis of loneliness and lack of friendships in today’s culture, this 90-day devotional offers both lived perspective and attainable promise for how to find community and friends, especially within your difficult personal circumstances.
Praying Through Loneliness will let you know that you are:
Not alone in your sadness, frustration, or sense of rejection
Not alone when you feel jealous of other women’s friendships
Not alone in the pain of a friendship breakup
Not alone in your exhaustion from trying to make friends
Not alone in your need to know that the Lord sees you in your loneliness, has a purpose for you during it, and won’t abandon you as you walk through it
Spend the next 90 days with come-alongside friends and the God who has said from the beginning that it is not good for us to be alone.
I recently had the opportunity to check out this beautiful devotional for myself. As a 90-day devotional, I have not yet had the chance to read through all the devotions included, but I read through several from each section to get an idea. What a beautiful devotional this was! It offered a perfect blend of both personal stories written from various contributors as well as scriptural references as well. Those personal stories offered so many different perspectives to help readers feel seen, while still being rooted in God's word.
