Saved by Noel by Tracy Baack: Book Review

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Book

Everyone says to dream big . . . but how do you turn those big dreams into reality?

From the time she was a little girl, Clara’s dream has been to write romance movie scripts for her favorite television channel. But not just any love stories—Christmas romance is her particular obsession. Unfortunately, that dream has taken a back seat to the demands of her real job as a copywriter and manager.

Clara’s big break comes when her late aunt leaves her an inheritance with one stipulation attached: she must spend the money on something to help her achieve her writing dream. And Clara knows just what to do with it. She purchases a small cabin in the woods to serve as a writing retreat. With the perfect cozy atmosphere, Clara is finally ready to prioritize her lifelong goal.

However, she’s sidetracked when an unfortunate mishap lands her face-to-face with Clark, the town handyman. After an initial spark of attraction, Clara soon discovers that Clark is decidedly not a Christmas enthusiast. She quickly gets distracted by the broody man she can’t forget and the small town that embraces her as one of its own.

Will Clara get so sidetracked helping Clark and the town that her dream slowly dies? Or will they be just the inspiration she needs to make all her dreams come true?

Calling all Hallmark Christmas movie lovers! Saved by Noel is the perfect book for anyone who loves cozy Christmas romances. You’ll find all the heart-melting, feet-kicking swoon with zero explicit content in this closed-door, kisses only sweet romance.

Content Considerations (all take place in the past, not on page): Mentions of secondary infertility; family members killed in car accident; toxic parent relationship.

The Author

Tracy was that elementary school kid determined to be #1 in the Accelerated Reader standings every year (one part love of reading + one part competitive spirit). She spent so much time absorbed in imaginary worlds with fictional characters, she started dreaming up her own storylines - always with a heaping dose of love and happily ever afters.

Decades later, she's finally putting pen to paper (and fingers to keyboard) to make swoony, closed-door love stories feel real for other readers.

When she's not writing, reading, or daydreaming new stories, Tracy loves baking, long walks in the sunshine, drinking coffee with friends, listening to podcasts, and playing board games with her family. She lives in Kansas with her husband and four children.

Book Review

What a great read this was! I'm a little Christmas obsessed myself, much like Clara, and as such, I definitely was drawn into this story and related to her character right away. She has big dreams to one day write Christmas romance movies and with inheritance from her aunt, she seeks to find the perfect writing retreat for herself to do just that. When she finds a secluded cabin located in a little town called Noel, it SEEMED like the perfect fit--- until she discovers the struggling town doesn't live up to its holiday name at all. This truly is the perfect read for all Hallmark fans--- struggling town with a holiday name? Check. A mayor MMC who can be a little bit of a scrooge? Check. A Christmas loving FMC that wants to save the town and bring it some Christmas cheer with a Christmas festival? Check. These two were such wonderful characters... Clark was definitely very much a grump, but the more we got to see from his past, the more I found myself rooting for him. The two of them had such wonderful chemistry, and while it was very much a slow burn, the payoff was absolutely worth it! This was the first book I'd read from Tracy Baack and it has me looking forward to reading more from her in the future.

Saved by Noel is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
