The Book
What she doesn’t remember puts them in danger. What she does remember might, too…
Free-spirited Pat Gray treads water more carefully now, instead of jumping in headfirst like before. A near-death experience and the resulting amnesia can do that to a person. But she knows she can’t stay with the same guy for long, even with a trustworthy and charming cowboy like Harris. Especially when her secrets can pull them apart. And when someone is stalking and threatening her…
Harris Lawrence has been smitten with Pat for a while, but holding onto his chances with the elusive newcomer would be like holding onto the ocean breeze. So he’ll protect her while guarding his heart. And he’ll remember her forever.
Or however long they can stay alive.
Welcome to Port Sunshine, a small coastal town where a family of cowboy brothers discover the treasures of love and uncover the mysteries of their pasts!
The Author
Alexa Verde writes feel-good small-town romances - sweet like pie with a dash of suspense and a sprinkle of mystery, warming like a cup of hot chocolate. She writes to encourage people, bring them many hours of reading bliss, and take them away from their sorrows.
She has worn the hats of a teacher, reporter, translator, caretaker, office assistant, but feels the author’s hat suits her the best. Oh, about hats: she's lived in both hemispheres, traveled to eight countries (got lost in several), and now hangs her hat in south Texas. She speaks five languages and gets misunderstood in most of them (heavy accent).
Finally, a little detail: she's a Kindle Unlimited All-Star, has published 55 books, and had over 120 million pages read worldwide. She'd love it if you subscribed to her newsletter at her website. Every subscriber gets a free sweet romance as a thank you gift after confirming their subscription.
Book Review
Seaside Cowboy's Forget-Me-Not is the eighth book in the Seaside Cowboys series. I had not personally read any of the previous books in the series, and while I WAS able to enjoy it just fine as a standalone, it did feel a bit like I was jumping into an ongoing story and didn't have all of the context of what was happening at times. I did still enjoy it very much, but think that perhaps I might have benefitted from reading the previous books first. My goodness, what a story! There was a LOT going on in this one--- amnesia, stalking, family secrets (SO many secrets) --- where do we even begin? It could have easily been overwhelming, but somehow it all worked together to create a suspenseful read that kept me at the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed Pat and Harris together--- they definitely had a lot to work through to get to their happily ever after, but I loved seeing them work through everything throughout the story. This was a nice slower-burn romance with just the right blend of romance, suspense and faith to keep me intrigued. If you love Christian suspense, this is definitely one you'll want to check out for yourself, though I would personally recommend reading the previous books first to get the most out of it!
