The Fake Script by Marion De Ré: Book Review

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Book

Can a plot twist turn the scars of the past into a second chance at love?

My high-school crush is shooting a movie in our bookstore and I am not ready to stir up the past.
Not even a little bit.
Auston Buckley is the only guy I’ve ever kissed. He ditched me on the worst possible day of my life to live his dream and now he's starring in the adaptation of my favorite romance novel.
Not only is he ruining this movie for me; he’s also set to ruin my summer.
My friends are convinced it’s fate and are rooting for my second chance romance but I’m not ready to be the main character in that story.
Yet, my big mouth lands me consulting on the film and in Auston’s trailer, where old wounds—and feelings—resurface.
Despite the fortress I’ve built around my heart, it’s easy to fall into a new rhythm with Auston, especially when I fake date him to defy public opinion—yes, you read that right—and he throws me the ultimate bookish birthday party.
As much as I’m determined not to be the last book in the series, resisting Auston becomes harder and harder. But can I really move on from our painful history?
I am known to be extremely stubborn, after all.

The Fake Script is a closed door fake dating romcom between a grumpy bookstore owner and a sunshine movie star.

Book Review

The Fake Script is the third and final book in the One More Chapter series. While you might have a bit of a better understanding on the friendship dynamics if you've read the previous books in the series, this could absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone with no problem as well.

Oh my goodness, this series! While I am sad to see it come to an end, it definitely ended on a high note with this one. While I have loved every single book in the series, this one might just be my new favorite--- fake dating with a famous movie star... who also happens to be her first love!? Honestly, what could be better than that? I've really enjoyed Emma's character throughout the series and was definitely excited to get to her story. As we learn more about her history, I couldn't help but root for her to get her happily ever after even more. Auston and Emma had such a wonderful chemistry between them. He was such a sweetheart, impossible not to fall in love with as the story goes on. That birthday party!? Talk about the way to a bookish girl's heart! This book (and series as a whole) has been such a fantastic love letter to the Bookstagram community and truly has been such a joy to read! Definitely a must for all the romance loving bookish girls!

The Fake Script is a closed-door romance with kisses only. It does have very minimal, minor language as well.
