The Book
What happens when a hopeful romantic bets a grumpy skeptic that love really exists?
Now that I’ve landed my dream job in NYC, I’m finally ready to find Mr. Right.
What better way to meet new people in a big city than a speed dating event?
Or so I thought—until I got stuck with the biggest cynic in the room.
Parker’s disdain for love drives me crazy, yet there’s something about his icy blue-green eyes that draws me in.
Determined to prove to him that love exists, I find myself betting him that I can find a boyfriend by Valentine’s Day.
Yet somehow, every cringe-worthy date I endure ends with Parker swooping in to rescue me.
As our rivalry evolves into an unexpected friendship, I catch glimpses of the caring man hidden beneath his tough facade.
Now, I can’t ignore the flutter in my heart when he’s around.
But is it just the thrill of competition, or is there something deeper brewing between us?
The Valentine’s Bet is a closed-door, grumpy sunshine romcom. It’s an interconnected standalone to Kristine W. Joy’s The Friendly Fall.

Book Review
While not part of a series, The Valentine's Bet is connected to The Friendly Fall (Amy is Eliza's best friend) and those who have read that will enjoy seeing some familiar characters. It can still absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.Kristine W. Joy has once again knocked it out of the park with this cute romcom! Amy is a hopeless romantic who has just moved to New York City and is eager to find her true love--- despite her inexperience in that area. She meets Parker at a speed dating event that he was reluctantly dragged to and he's her total opposite--- a total cynic about love. Right away, the chemistry between these two is absolutely fantastic as was their banter... he may be a cynic (with good reason as we discover throughout the story), but he can't help but find himself being drawn to Amy's light or rescuing her from bad dates. These two just brought me so much joy with every interaction... that first kiss? Oh my goodness, so good! This was such a sweet and swoon worthy read... perfect for January/February reading (or anytime, honestly!). I loved it.
The Valentine's Bet is a closed-door romance with kisses only.
