Home On The Line by Jordan Riley: Book Review

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Book

In this heartfelt, cozy novella sequel to 'Love on the Line', Blake and Sierra’s story continues as they begin to settle into married life. Just as they start to feel confident in their new routine, life throws some abrupt and unexpected curveballs their way. As they navigate these challenges, they learn to lean on each other and their faith, growing stronger together to face whatever comes next.

Book Review

Home on the Line is a sequel to Love on the Line. While you may be able to enjoy this as a standalone, I definitely think readers will get the most out of the story by reading in order--- both to have a little more understanding of some of the characters being a short read, but also to avoid potential spoilers.

This was such a sweet read... and quite different than the romances that we typically see. Unlike those stories where we get to see the characters fall in love for the first time, this one picks up when Blake and Sierra are already married and learning to work through life together (though we do get a few flashbacks to those earlier days too). As much as I love those meet cutes and first kisses, I absolutely believe that the real love stories are found when they're put through the fire and come out on the other side... it's in those moments of going through life together and facing the struggles... and I thought Blake and Sierra's story showed that very well. It was a super short read--- easily read in just one sitting but packed an emotional punch in those pages just the same. While this story ultimately has a happily ever after and messages of faith and healing, it is important to note that it does deal with a miscarriage and the grief that comes with that. As someone who has experienced recurrent miscarriages, I thought the topic was handled with sensitivity.

Home on the Line is a closed-door Christian romance with subtle fade-to-black between a married couple. It does have one minor curse word.
