The Book
In a city filled with secrets, can love really conquer all?
After years of working myself to the bone at New York’s top architecture firm without recognition, I’m desperate for a promotion.
Being a spy is the last thing I want to do—especially in Chicago—but with my job on the line, I pack my bags for the Windy City, pretending to be on the hunt for a new position.
I’m paired with Daisy, whose role is to convince me to take the job at her firm. She’s as sweet as her name suggests… except when I critique her beloved city. She transforms in a feisty mama bear ready to defend Chicago to the ground.
Determined to win me over, Daisy takes me to her favorite spots, showcasing Chicago’s breathtaking art, iconic architecture, and indulgent specialty foods.
As the days pass, I start seeing Chicago through her eyes and start falling for her—and for the city I never wanted to call home.
But when ghosts of my past resurface, Daisy helps me navigate emotions I’ve buried for years, deepening the connection between us and making me question everything I thought I wanted.
Spring is a time for renewal and forgiveness, but can I really move on from my painful history? And if I do, will Daisy still be by my side once she learns what brought me to Chicago?

Book Review
Lillies, Lies and Love is the third book in the Season of Love series, but can absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone as well. This series has been such a fun adventure--- exploring each season in a different location. This time, we head to Chicago for the spring. If you already love Chicago, this book will definitely be up your alley, as it definitely feels like a love letter to the city in many ways. Daisy's love for it certainly does shine through and may just have you wanting to plan a trip there yourself. That definitely makes her the perfect person to try to persuade Asher- a loyal New Yorker- to make the move and take a job at the architecture firm where she works. That isn't going to be easy though with the secret he's keeping--- he's actually there to spy for his boss. That could have made it difficult to like and trust his character, but Marion pulled it off brilliantly. Their story drew me in right away and I couldn't get enough of their banter--- most of which came from the friendly competition over Chicago vs New York. They also had a very easy chemistry between them that I couldn't help but love. When you throw in an unexpected family reunion bringing up some past hurts, there really was so much to love in this story. Marion's books are always such an enjoyable escape, and this one was no exception... it's definitely one you'll want to experiencer for yourself.
Lillies, Lies and Love is a closed-door romance with kisses only. It does have minimal minor language.
