The Book
A fake date, a lucky chance… and a love that feels just right.
I came back to Enchanted Hollow to escape the mess I made of my life. But, apparently, nothing’s ever easy in this quirky little town. Especially not when I need a fake boyfriend to keep my sisters from finding out that my engagement fell apart.
Enter him: Weston Reilly, grumpy tight end… and the guy who accidentally double-booked the magical vacation rental I’m staying at. He’s the last person I expected to run into—especially since we’ve never really gotten along. The last time we crossed paths, we didn't exactly get along. I called him Mr. First Down, Last Nerve and he won't stop referring to me as Spitfire.
But when I need a date to keep my sisters off my back, Weston offers to help. Before I know it, we’re pretending to be the perfect couple, all smiles and stolen moments at Enchanted Hollow’s St. Patrick’s Day festival.
It’s supposed to be simple: a couple of weeks of pretending, no strings attached. But there’s a catch. Weston’s way more than just the flirty, too-hot-to-touch athlete I thought I knew. Beneath the grumbles and the pickup lines, he’s a guy recovering from an ACL injury, trying to figure out who he is off the field while dodging the relentless spotlight. And me? Well, I’m hiding from my own mess of a life, so maybe we’re both faking it for different reasons.
Turns out, St. Patrick’s Day in Enchanted Hollow isn’t just about shamrocks, luck, and green beverages It’s about finding that just-right person who fits into your life—not too hot, not too cold, but just perfect.
I never expected this to feel real… but neither did he.
The Author
Monique writes sweet, no-spice, small town romances. While they might have a smidge of angst, you'll always find a happily ever after with swoony couples and character growth. When she's not writing, she can be found watching The Big Bang Theory or Friends (or a Marvel movie), on the water with her family, or reading a book. She lives in Texas with her husband of 18 years, four kids, two dogs (Thor and Loki), and a cat.Book Review
The Lucky One is the third book in the Enchanted Hollow series. While you may be able to enjoy this one as a standalone, I would personally recommend reading them in order to get the most out of it. I think you'll have a better understanding of Bridget's family dynamics, as well as the magic of Enchanted Hollow.Simply put, this story is absolutely, positively... just right.
From the very first book in this series, I have absolutely loved Enchanted Hollow--- a town and a series that is the perfect blend of Once Upon a Time meets Gilmore Girls. With each additional visit back to the town, I have fallen a little more in love. (You might even say obsessed!) As such, I was super excited for this one... though I was certainly curious to see retelling of Goldilocks would work as a romance... and while I won't give too much away it absolutely did! Not only did this story live up to my expectations, but it far exceeded them as well. A magical house, an injured football player, a hint of fake dating and some Irish charm perfect for St. Patrick's Day? Yes, please! I loved it ALL. Weston and Bridget brought me so much joy with their easy banter and teasing relationship... and oh, that chemistry! They were so perfect together. I loved finding those little nods to Goldilocks throughout the story (not to mention the other Disney/fairy tale references sprinkled throughout as well). While I couldn't imagine anyone coming close to my love for Luke and Ella--- this one did! I just adored these two and find myself looking forward to the next visit... I cannot wait!
The Lucky One is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
