Easter is quickly approaching and for many parents, that means we're looking for the perfect way to fill those baskets. While we have never done the Easter bunny in my house, I DO love putting together a fun basket to celebrate the day!
Our Easter baskets look a little bit different every year... some years I stick with a theme (a preferred character or outdoor toys), some years it's a little more treat/snack heavy than gifts, and some years it's really just a mix of this and that. One of my favorite things to do for Easter though is to be intentional with what I'm putting in the baskets.
So, what does that mean?
Simply put, I want to make sure that we are putting the focus where it should be--- on Jesus! He is the reason we celebrate after all! That might mean an inspiring piece of jewelry or a faith-based film, but my favorite is a Bible, Bible storybook or devotional--- like the Jesus Storybook Bible and/or My Little Library of God’s Great Love! I recently received a copy of both of these great resources to share. While my kids are a bit too old for these now, the Jesus Storybook Bible is definitely one that we enjoyed a lot when they were younger. It's beautifully illustrated and such a good way to show young readers all about God's love... you can even read the story of Easter (pages 306-313) in a child appropriate version that they can understand! The board books are a 4 in 1 set that make it even easier to share with the youngest, giving them an early foundation that I think is so important! These are absolutely adorable, and one that I know my kids would have enjoyed when they were younger. These are stories that your little ones can enjoy not just on Easter, but all throughout the year!
