Welcome, Jorgia! Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions and giving my readers a chance to get to know you and your new book Collision Course.
Hi! Thanks so much for having me.
Can you share 5 random facts about yourself that we won’t find in your bio?
I’m a high school dropout.
I’m an incredibly fussy eater.
After writing around 50 books, I quit writing secular romance when the Lord convicted me.
I don’t watch television.
Farm animals freak me out.
When did you first discover you had a passion for writing?
Probably in primary school (elementary school in the US). I still remember writing a story about a princess in a tower being rescued by a knight who of course was named after a boy I liked at the time. I must have been seven. Not much has changed!
What drew you to writing romantic suspense?
Even as an early reader, I loved mysteries, detective stories, and suspense. There was something so exciting about not knowing what would happen on the next page.
When I got older, I discovered books that combined romance and suspense, and I was hooked! It wasn’t until I read my first Irene Hannon book that I realized there were Christian Romantic Suspense books too. I loved how there was an extra layer that just seemed to make my heart burn with hope.
As a suspense writer, what is the most incriminating research we’d find in your search history?
How to disarm a bomb or better yet components of bombs that terrorists routinely use!
What was the most challenging part of bringing this story to life?
I didn’t want to create one-dimensional characters with flimsy backstories. I wanted them real and raw. That meant risking characters that readers may not relate to.
The most rewarding?
It was incredibly rewarding to come away with a renewed respect of service members. I also gained a better understanding of how insanely stressful Air Traffic Control is! Those guys and gals are legends!
If you could describe your main character(s) in just three words each, what would those words be?
Reese is: Focused, brave, and determined.
Verity is: Faithful, resilient, and strong.
What do you hope readers will take away from the book?
That God mends broken hearts and broken marriages, and that while Satan is at work in the world, God is ready to fight all our battles for us and that we need only to be still. Exodus 14:14.
